World's Best Stand Up Paddlesurfers are arriving in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria for Finals showdown

The APP World Tour will once again crown its World Champions for SUP Surfing and SUP Longboard Surfing for Men, Women and Juniors in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria following a week of action set to kick off as early as Tuesday 21st November.

With a stacked field of the World's very best Stand Up Paddlesurfers from all four corners of the world starting to descend upon the City of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the scene is set for another spectacular week of action on the APP World Tour.

Featuring both regular SUP and longboard SUP formats for both Men and Women, together with Youth Championships to celebrate the future of the sport, the beachfront in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will come to life once again with some of the very best action of the year.

Watch all the action LIVE from this year's Gran Canaria SUP Open at appworldtour.com / @appworldtour and follow all the behind the scenes and build up, as well as contest updates @appworldtour, with the first possible start for competition scheduled for 8am on Tuesday 21st November.

Who to watch out for at this year's Gran Canaria SUP Open

Will Benoit Carpentier from France be able to secure back to back victories here in Gran Canaria, or will it be the turn of the Brazilians to fight back to regain the World Title for the first time since Caio Vaz back in 2016? Certainly given the wealth of Brazilian talent in attendance inclusive of #2 from last year, Luiz Diniz and winner of the event in 2019, Wellington Reis, not to mention 2012 World Champion Leco Salazar.

Meanwhile, the truly international field this year also includes standouts such as Sebastian Gomez from Peru who is always one to watch out for, as well as Clement Roseyro from France, not to mention the new wave of Japanese talent in the form of Taka Inoue and the young phenom Kapono Fukuda.

For the women, it will be last year's Champion, the young Japanese talent Kaede Inoue with the target on her back, while the on form Luchy Cosoleto from Argentina will be looking to go one better than her 2nd place finish last year.

However, once again the talent runs deep, with previous World and Event Champion and local ambassador Iballa Moreno as dangerous as ever and re-energized this year along with Aline Adisaka from Brazil, a long time contender on the APP World Tour who will certainly be here to make a statement this year. Then there is the new wave of talent stepping up in the form of the younger Inoue sibling Sakura and the Basque Country talent, Alazne Alonso, among many other strong contenders.

Whatever happens, it will be a show to remember, so join us LIVE for all the action from Tuesday at appworldtour.com and stay tuned to the build up @appworldtour
